Greetings!
I have been writing for about fifteen years, but it
was only in 1998 that I actually took up an instrument! Up
until then it was a case of singing melodies onto tape, then
asking a variety of musicians I knew to help me out with the
music. Many thanx to Gordon Lamb, Tim Hawkins, Jonathan
Hurdle, Louisa James and Jim O'Brien!! I gradually lost
contact with all these fine people, so for the last seven or so
years I have had to cope on my own, but I think that's the
best way to learn.
For the last four years I have been playing bass guitar in various bands,
in various churches in Plymouth.

I became a Christian in 1995 at university, when I finally
realised that I couldn't run things on my own - I was in the
wrong place, doing the wrong thing, for the wrong reason - so
I asked Jesus to take control. My life situation then
completely changed and I've never gone back. I have tried to
write my story into a song, "The Day It Rained Colours"
My aim as a writer is to try to give the world a different
perspective from a Christian - a personal view, which includes
praise, honesty, anecdotes, metaphors and doubts. It includes
the good times and the bad times, as well as a lot of the
observations I have made about life in general. Of course, the
tunes are good too! Check out the MP3 clips on this site.
My main musical tastes are all things
indie/alternative/grunge/tuneful rock and my major influences
are: The Strawbs , Bob Dylan , A House , The Cure and
The Tragically Hip.
The latest album, "Twisted" takes a new direction creatively, and is my best yet.
It includes all the new instruments I have learned: Mandolin, Mandola and Harmonica,
as well as the good old guitar and bass.
